Parental authorisation

If a minor is travelling with just one of his or her parents, we recommend that the parent carries a legalised parental authorisation from the other parent.

If a minor is travelling with a third party, this person should carry a legalised parental authorisation from both parents.

Please note, in the case of air travel, in some instances minors travelling without this certificate have been unable to board their flight.

Practical procedures:

  • The authorisation can be handwritten by the parent(s) or you can use the template provided by the Town Hall.
  • You will need your identity card.
  • The procedure is free of charge.
  • The parental authorisation must be legalised by the town hall in the parents’ (or parent’s) place of residence.
