Marriage notice

The formalities for a forthcoming marriage must be completed at the Town Hall of the municipality in which the wedding will take place.

The marriage notice must be drawn up and signed by both bride and groom at least 14 days before the date of the wedding. To complete this notice, the couple must make an appointment to visit the Registrar’s department of the appropriate Town Hall.

If the parties have made matrimonial agreements, a certificate from the notary must be submitted to the Town Hall.

The date and time of the marriage can be set, at the earliest on the 15th day after the issue of the marriage notice. The marriage must be celebrated publicly in the presence of two witnesses who must present their identity documents on the day of the wedding.
