Gilbert Legasse
President of the CPAS.
Age 60, this self-educated and practical man is direct and passionate about social issues and has been at the head of the CPAS since 2001: “It’s rather a case of working behind the scenes, but it allows you to be closer to the people, to provide them with a different kind of help.”
What are your plans?
To continue to pursue the same aims, to consolidate what we already have. The CPAS cover a very broad scope: we manage retirement homes, children’s homes, meal delivery services, not forgetting our main mission: providing assistance to those who need it most!
Do you find it difficult working with your son?
We complement each other. He has his way of working, I have my experience, but we are very close when it comes to basic principles. Like any father, I am very pleased to see that he has managed to progress faster than me, even if I might have chosen a different path for him, bearing in mind the sacrifices and time required for a political commitment.
