Originally from Sardinia, she has a sunny disposition and a commitment to dialogue. This resident of Quenast entered the political arena six years ago when she became a Town Councillor. 49 years old and mother of two children, Giovanna describes herself as “a citizen like any other who wants to improve everyday life for all”.

What about culture?

I find this area very interesting, because of its human aspect and wide range of contacts. I think that the challenge here too will be to harness energies and to improve coordination. Rebecq is a beautiful village. Our wealth is our heritage rather than money. Many interesting people live in our village and we have many resources that we are not putting to best use.

What does the presence of women bring the new Board?

Women have often been absent at a political level. However, our sensitivity and organisational skills complement the more pragmatic male approach.
