The Town Council
The Town Council acts as a kind of “parliament” in the municipality. It meets once a month and decides on all issues affecting the community.
The Town Council’s tasks include:
- voting on the municipal budget (forecast) and approving the accounts (actual)
- voting on taxes and deciding on borrowing
- deciding on the hire, sale and purchase of buildings
- appointing municipal officials
- organising local education
- voting on regulations relating to citizens’ safety, cleanliness and peace
